VTrans to close VT Route 104a in Fairfax on September 15, 16 to replace culvert

The Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans) will be closing VT Route 104A in Fairfax to install a large concrete box culvert. The road will be closed at mile marker 1.08 from 3AM Saturday September 15, 2012 to 9 PM Sunday September 16, 2012. The night construction is scheduled to minimize the impact on the traveling public
Motorists will encounter daily lane closures which will continue for approximately one week after the weekend closure. Crews will work to maintain one lane of traffic to facilitate traffic flow. Motorists should expect short periods of time when traffic will be stopped in both directions to allow for the movement of machinery and personnel. Detour maps will be posted in local businesses and in the Town Clerk offices. Five message boards will be in place to alert the public one week in advance of the start date. All work on the project is expected to be completed by October 1, 2012.
