GMP crews restore power to 16,000 overnight

Green Mountain Power crews and support staff restored power to almost all of the 17,000 GMP customers who lost power Monday evening. Less than 1,000 GMP customers remain without power this morning with the majority of the outages in Franklin County. The remaining outages should be repaired by early afternoon.

A series of thunderstorms containing heavy rainfall, intense lightning large hail and isolated pockets of high winds moved through the state overnight. Crews were deployed from south to north where the majority of the wind events occurred.
