The members of the Board of Directors for Newport City Renaissance Corporation (NCRC) invite the Newport-area community to attend the NCRCâ s 2012 Annual Meeting on Wednesday 27 June at 5.30p at The Gateway on the shores of Lake Memphremagog in downtown Newport, Vermont.
This year the agenda includes guest speaker Bill Stenger, CEO of Jay Peak Resort, who will report on progress at the resort and the impact on economic development in the Newport area.
Members of the NCRC Board of Directors as well as NCRC Committee Chairs will report on the work they are currently doing as well as their plans for upcoming projects that include enhancing and expanding access to Newportâ s waterways and greenspace as well as Complete Streets with new bike racks and more. There are also plans being executed for workforce development, marketing Newport and developing new businesses downtown, including the Northeast Kingdom Tasting Center.
There will also be a brief presentation on DiscoverNewportVT.com as a clearinghouse of information about events and businesses in Newport and surrounding communities.
Elections for the Newport City Renaissance Corporationâ s Board of Directors will also take place. Current members of the board include: Bill Morison, Chair/Community College of Vermont, Katy Kavanagh, Vice Chair/Alexandraâ s Kitchenware & Gifts, Terrie McQuillen, Secretary-Treasurer/Community National Bank, Steve Breault/Newport Natural Market & Café and Ross MacCormack/Air Canada (retired).
