Vermont Department of Labor advising unemployment Insurance checks delayed

The Vermont Department of Labor is advising that Unemployment Insurance checks will be delayed one day due to a problem that occurred in the mailing process Thursday.
â The UI checks were scheduled to be in the mail today (Thursday) by 3:30 pm, but during the mailing process late this afternoon a significant error was discovered which resulted in our having to reissue the run. UI recipients should take note of this delay and plan their financial transactions accordingly. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our recipients,’said Labor Commissioner Annie Noonan.
The Department believes that most UI recipients will receive their check by Saturday, but a few checks may arrive on Monday, based upon postal delivery schedule. This delay does not affect those claimants receiving benefits through direct deposit.
