UVM narrows presidential search field to five finalists

The University of Vermont Presidential Search Committee has identified five finalists for the position of president. John Bramley is the interim president. He took over from Dan Fogel, who resigned last July. The final candidates have been invited to campus for interviews beginning January 19 to become the 26th president of the University of Vermont. According to a university statement, the unanimous consensus of the Search Committee is that the qualifications of these individuals are outstanding and that each has the potential to be an exceptional President.
The final candidates are highly accomplished and successful leaders and scholars in higher education. All have impressive records of achievement in their current and past roles, and all have had to manage very difficult and complex problems and issues at their current institutions, the statement said.
Candidates will meet with Governance Leadership, Faculty Panel, Deans, Chairs of the Presidential Commissions, and senior leaders. In addition, there will be an open forum for each candidate followed by an informal reception.
