US Senator Bernie Sanders (I-Vermont) on Thursday will visit community health centers in Randolph, Vt., and Bradford, Vt., and meet with officials at the VA medical center at White River Junction, Vt.’
The Gifford Medical Center in Randolph was awarded $812,500 last month when it was designated as one three new Federally Qualified Health Centers in Vermont.’
The senator also is scheduled to visit the headquarters of Little Rivers Health Care at Bradford, Vt., one of what will soon be 11 centers throughout the state that provide primary and dental care, mental health counseling and low-cost prescription drugs to more than one in five Vermonters.’
Sanders also will meet on Thursday with leaders of the Department of Veterans Affairs health center at White River Junction. The Senate Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, which Sanders chairs, last month passed legislation that would significantly expand access to VA health care for hundreds of thousands of veterans. The bill also would extend dental care services for veterans.’
