Vermont's first Construction and Demolition Recycling Center is Now Open. Currently over 90,000 tons of construction and demolition debris are dumped in Vermont's’ one and only landfill, making up about 25% of Vermont's waste stream.
The Myers Recycling Center is accepting much of this waste by working with homeowners, construction and demolition contractors, engineers, colleges, businesses and state agencies.’ This’ will help ensure as much of this debris is diverted from the landfill to the recycling center where it will be reverted back into usable products.’ Wood, concrete, metal, shingles, sheetrock, cardboard, glass, plastic, pallets, doors and windows are now being accepted.
At Myers Recycling Center, we continuously strive for zero waste, always seeking and utilizing the most efficient technologies, secondary markers and reporting methods to provide us and our customers with an environmentally safe, fully compliant, low cost solution for all your construction and demolition recycling needs," said Jeff Myers.
The center is located on Red Can Road, just off Rathe Road in Colchester.
