Developer appeals Act 250 Commission’s denial of permit for construction of Quechee Highlands

Scott Milne, a principal in B&M Realty, has announced the filing of an appeal of the recent denial of an Act 250 permit to construct a 130,000 square foot residential and commercial Village at Exit 1 in the Quechee section of Hartford, Vermont.
The appeal will be heard by Vermont Superior Court’s Environmental Division.
‘The issues are traffic and the regional plan,’said Milne, who has worked on this project for almost a decade, ‘and we intend to pursue the appeal vigorously.’
‘This is a smart development,’he added, ‘and the strong support by the Town of Hartford proves that. We obtained every permit but Act 250. We want a fresh look at the issues that led to the denial, and a chance to prove this project fits with the regional plan and that the approval we have from Vermont Department of Transportation for the intersection is warranted.’
The District 3 Environmental Commission denied the project an Act 250 permit on July 3.
