At the April meeting of the Board of Directors of United Way of Chittenden County, Charlotte Ancel, an attorney with the Burlington law firm Sheehey Furlong & Behm PC, was elected President of the Board for a two year term. With a practice focusing primarily in public utility and telecommunications law, Ancel graduated first in her class from the University of New Hampshire Law School in 2007. During law school, she served as Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review and clerked for the Honorable James E. Duggan, Associate Justice of the New Hampshire Supreme Court. Ancel also serves on the Board of Directors of Maple Leaf Farms.
At the same meeting, Michael Seaver of People’ s United bank was elected Vice President, Jeffrey McMahan from the law firm of Dinse, Knapp & McAndrew was elected Secretary, and Paul Macuga from Fletcher Allen Health Care was elected Treasurer. Board Members re-elected for a second term were:
· Michell Langlais, Westport Hospitality;
· Pam Mackenzie, Decker Zinn LLC; and
· Joe Speidel, University of Vermont.
Members elected for their first term to the United Way Board of Directors were:

‘¢ Sue Leonard, the CFO at New England Federal Credit Union;
‘¢ Chuck Maniscalco, Vice President of Strategic Initiatives at Champlain College;
‘¢ Patrick Brown, of the Greater Burlington Multicultural Resource Center and prior recipient of United Way’ s Community Impact award;
‘¢ Linda Tarr-Whelan, a new member of the Chittenden County community who helped United Way Worldwide start their Women’ s Leadership Councils;
‘¢ Robert DiPalma from the law firm of Paul Frank + Collins, who will be Community Campaign Vice-Chair to the 2013 Chair, Tammy Shannon of Free Press Media;
‘¢ Ellen Kane, President of Fanny Allen Corporation; and
· Kevin Owens, co-owner of Select Design.
