The Chittenden Solid Waste District charges a fee to accept appliances year-round at all Drop-Off Centers. Twice a year CSWD holds free round ups and welcome Chittenden County residents to bring them in at no charge. The next one is Saturday April 6.
Free Appliance Round Up
WHEN: Saturday, April 6, from 8 am to 3:30 pm (April 5 & 6 at the Williston Drop-Off Center only)
WHERE: All CSWD Drop-Off Centers (Burlington, Essex, Hinesburg, Milton, Richmond, South Burlington, Williston) Residents are welcome to use any Drop-Off Center all year 'round, regardless of what town they live in.
WE ACCEPT: Major household appliances such as air conditioners, boilers, dehumidifiers, dishwashers, dryers, fridges, freezers, furnaces, microwaves, stoves, trash compactors, washers, water coolers, and water heaters.
THE RULES:
Appliance round up is open to residents of Chittenden County only. Please have ID ready to verify address.
Limit: 3 appliances per customer.
For safety purposes, please remove doors from latch-type fridges and freezers.
Regular charges apply for items not covered in this round up.
