There is $20,000 in funding available through an award competition launched by theVermont Developmental Disabilities Council. VTDDC welcomes applications forprojects that will engage individuals and organizations in advocacyactivities that bring people together to educate and inform policy makersabout the needs of people with developmental disabilities and their familymembers. Project grant awards may be made for up to $10,000 with potentialfor second year funding. The deadline isOctober 20, 2014.
VTDDC is a state-wide Board, and 63% of its members are people withdevelopmental disabilities or family members appointed by the Governor. VTDDCalso welcomes applications for membership and makes funding availableyear-round for individuals with developmental disabilities and family membersto attend conferences and trainings, as well as for small grants supportinginnovative projects.
VTDDC’s mission is to help build connections and supports that bring peoplewith developmental disabilities and their families into the heart of Vermontcommunities. VTDDC uses its federal funds to support activities to increasethe availability of individual and family-centered supports; to promoteindependence, self-determination and community inclusion; and to advocate forand increase public awareness about issues affecting people with disabilitiesand their families.
