As you already know, DHART is a strong presence in the skies over northern New England, from Burlington to Boston, from Portland to Pittsburgh, NH. It can be seen assisting on highway traffic accidents, transferring patients between hospitals across the region, adding an eye in the sky to search and rescue operations in the White Mountains, and on standby trackside at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway when NASCAR comes to town. DHART provides high-tech, high-quality care to those most in need, expanding Dartmouth-Hitchcock’s ability to provide the best care, in the right place, at the right time.
Since its first call – a patient transport from Valley Regional Hospital in Claremont in the early hours of July 1, 1994 –DHART has transported more than 20,000 critically ill and injured patients across New Hampshire, Maine, and Vermont. DHART remains the only air ambulance service in New Hampshire and Vermont, serving as many as 2 million residents of the region.
