Verizon Wireless XLTE network now available in Burlington and Rutland

Verizon Wireless has deployed its newest network technology – known asXLTE– in Burlington and Rutland, Vermont.XLTE enriches the mobile experience by providing enhanced access to Verizon’s high-speed 4G LTE mobile broadband network.

Verizon Wireless’ data shows customers in Burlington and Rutland are living the mobile lifestyle – watching video, surfing the web and posting status updates all on-the-go – and Verizon’s research indicates that this trend of data consumption will continue to grow. Over the past several months Verizon Wireless has more than doubled the capacity of its 4G LTE network in Burlington and Rutland.

XLTE utilizes Verizon's AWS (Advanced Wireless Services) spectrum, delivering faster peak speeds and at a minimum, doubles the capacity of its high-speed 4G LTE network. This means more customers can access the company'smost advanced technologysimultaneouslyto send photos, download videos, surf the Internet and use other popular applications on their smartphones, tablets and other devices.

·XLTE delivers faster peak speeds and greater capacity in markets where 4G LTE service is being delivered over AWS spectrum.

·XLTE ready 4G LTE devices take advantage of both Verizon’s original, nationwide 700 MHZ 4G LTE spectrum as well as thenew AWS spectrumthat has been activated.

·XLTE creates more “headroom” on the network for all. Customers with non-XLTE devices still get the super-fast speeds and coverage of 4G LTE, and also benefit from capacity created on the 4G LTE network when XLTE-capable devices step-up to the XLTE network.
