VINS receives $40,000 grant for Wild Bird Hospital

The Vermont Institute of Natural Science (VINS) has been awarded a $40,000 grant from the Sarah K de Coizart Article TENTH Perpetual Charitable Trust to support facilities improvements to their Wild Bird Hospital and raptor exhibits.
VINS said in a statement: "On behalf of the staff and tustees, VINS would like to thank the Sarah K de Coizart Article TENTH Perpetual Charitable Trust for their recognition of this important program, now in its 35th year. Sara Eisenhauer, VINS' Wild Bird Hospital Manager, remarked, "We're extremely grateful to the Sarah K. de Coizart Article TENTH Perpetual Charitable Trust for their generous support of our facility and our work. With this grant, we'll be able to make much needed improvements to our infrastructure so the day-to-day work of rescuing and rehabilitating the many birds we receive can continue to improve."
Judy Callens, VINS' Interim Executive Director elaborated, "VINS' avian rehabilitation program has been essential to our core mission for 35 years. The community has come to rely on us as the go-to resource for wild bird rescue in Vermont, and with the improvements made possible by this grant, we can serve those needs even more effectively. We're so pleased that the Sarah K. de Coizart Article TENTH Perpetual Charitable Trust has recognized both the importance of this work and the potential that an improved facility can have on the survival of injured, ill, and orphaned birds of our region."
