Twincraft Skincare opens doors to community

Vermont Business Magazine Vermont Governor Peter Shumlin has again declared October as Manufacturing Month in Vermont to coincide with the fourth annual national Manufacturing Day initiative. The purpose of these events is to generate more interest in the manufacturing segment of the economy and to draw attention to high-skill jobs in the manufacturing arena. As members of Vermont Manufacturing Extension Center (VMEC) and of the local community, Twincraft Skincare is inviting its neighbors to tour its manufacturing facilities in Winooski and Essex.

Twincraft is a contract manufacturer of specialty soap and skincare products. Some of its customers include well-known names like Avon (its first and continuous customer since its founding in 1971!), Mary Kay, Estee Lauder, Beauty Blender and more. The company has a unique story to tell in many ways, but this October, the focus is on manufacturing. Twincraft makes 100% of its products in Vermont! And they make a lot of soap and skincare products. Last year, they produced over 650 different products! There are 8 production lines with two shifts in Winooski making bar soap, and a new, state-of-the-art liquids facility in Essex that opened in early 2015.

Twincraft invites the community to visit and tour a manufacturing facility.

There are two public tours scheduled: 9 am on October 6 (Tuesday) at the liquids plant at 36 River Road in Essex, and 3 pm on October 9 (Wednesday) in Winooski to visit the bar soap site. To register, please visit www.mfgday.com and click “Attend an Event.”
