The University of Vermont will celebrate its 214th Commencement onSunday, May 17.Since Sunday’s forecast calls for pleasant weather, the University Commencement Main Ceremony and College of Arts and Sciences Ceremony will take place outdoors on the University Green.Graduates and guests are urged to dress appropriately for the weather. Tickets are not required.
Nina Totenberg, National Public Radio Legal Affairs Correspondent, will deliver the commencement address at the Main Ceremony.

Faculty and graduates dressed in academic regalia are asked to assemble for the Main Ceremony academic procession on the Bailey-Howe/Davis Center Green at 7:45 a.m. The ceremony will begin at8:20 a.m.
The College of Arts and Sciences Ceremony will begin at12:30 p.m.also on the University Green. Faculty and graduates dressed in academic regalia are asked to assemble on the Bailey-Howe/Davis Center Green at11:45 a.m.for the Arts and Sciences academic procession.
The eight colleges and schools of the University of Vermont will hold individual ceremonies throughout the day. All ceremonies will be webcast live. A link is available athttp://live.vpt.org/uvm/uvm.html.
The following street closings are planned in conjunction with Commencement: from Friday, May 15, at7 p.m.throughSunday, May 17, at8 p.m., University Place will be closed from Colchester Avenue to Main Street, and South Prospect Street will be closed from College Street to the University Health Center entrance. In addition, on Sunday, May 17 from5 a.m. to 5 p.m., South Prospect Street will be closed from Colchester Avenue to Main Street, and College Street will be closed from South Prospect Street to South Williams Street. Main Street will also be restricted to one lane from the Davis Center to South Prospect Street from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 17.
