Cancer Patient Support Foundation names Sarah Lemnah executive director

After an extensive search committee process, Bobbe Maynes, the President of the Board of Directors of the Cancer Patient Support Foundation, (CPS) announced that Sarah Lemnah, of St. Albans, was named the first executive director. CPS has been providing services and support to cancer patients and their families in Vermont and northern New York for over 14 years.

Lemnah previously was the Director of Development & Communications for Champlain Valley Agency on Aging for 9 years. She is the past president of VERG (Vermont Elder Resource Group) and was formerly the producer and host of "Aging Matters" heard on WOKO/WKOL/WJOY/WIZN/WBTZ. In addition, she was a contributing columnist on health and aging issues for Vermont Maturity Magazine and the Burlington Free Press.

Lemnah brings a wealth of experience and knowledge about cancer to CPS having been a former American Cancer Society staffer who was actively involved in Relay for Life. In that position she also was editor and author of Walk Talk, a statewide newsletter on cancer issues.

The Cancer Patient Support Foundation (CPS) is an independent nonprofit organization which supports cancer patients and their families in Vermont and northern New York.Support from CPS helps patients meet their co-insurance obligations and receive nutritional psychological counseling.In addition, CPS provides emergency financial assistance for patients experiencing hardship due to their illness and treatment.

CPS has been helping cancer patients and their families for over 14 years. It was inspired by the desire of cancer survivors and other dedicated members of the community to provide a helping hand in a time of extraordinary need. In that same spirit, today’s CPS services are funded entirely by donations and grants.
