Vermont Business Magazine Snow guns are firing and mother nature is delivering. A healthy 3-5 inches fell overnight and it's still coming down. This is exactly what Burke Mountain needed to get back on track with a new target opening date of Friday, December 2nd for passholders and Saturday, December 3rd for everyone. The plan will be to continue to make snow straight through Wednesday and then fire up again over the weekend, unless of course temperatures take a turn for the better and we are able make snow during the evening hours of Thanksgiving and Black Friday. As expected, the warmer temperatures last week took a toll on snowmaking efforts, but the extended forecast indicates continued cold and snow.
Watch it all live from the Mid Burke webcam.
Operational plan will be as follows:
Friday, 12/2. Mid Burke Express spins for the first time this season for Burke Mountain & Judge Season Pass holders. 9am-4pm.
Saturday, 12/3 & Sunday, 12/4. Mid Burke Express opens at 9am for everyone! Adult day tickets will be $45.00 and juniors $25.00 available for purchase at the Sherburne Base Lodge
Ski/Ride Operations will CLOSE Monday, 12/5 through Thursday, 12/8 to allow us ample time to make additional snow with the hopes of opening more terrain by Friday, 12/9. Friday, 12/9 Burke Mountain will open daily for ski/ride operations (weather permitting) until end of season.
The Bear Den, Edmund's Coffee Shop, and the Day Lodge Cafeteria will follow the same plan above with their applicable hours with the Hotel Pub open daily 11am-8pm (Monday through Thursday, and Friday/Saturday 11am-9pm).
Willoughby's, the newest restaurant to come online in the Hotel will make it's debut this Thursday for our first annual all-you-can-eat Thanksgiving buffet from 12noon-9pm. Reservations are highly recommended. Complete details can be found here. Willoughby's will be open on Friday's & Saturday's from 5-9pm until the Holiday's.
Burke Mountain is rolling out some incredible lift ticket, tuning, retail, and lodging deals this weekend for Black Friday and Cyber Monday and you'll definitely want to check them out.
