“We’re thrilled to be teaming up with BACC for this candidate showcase,” said Jane Campbell, VBSR’s executive director. “As a business association, we support economic development but we always want to see sustainability be core to that work. The Brattleboro area understands this concept and we’re pleased to help bring Vermont’s candidates for Governor and Attorney General to Windham County to engage in this conversation.”
“Southern Vermont faces economic challenges that are different from other parts of the state,” said Kate O’Conner, BACC’s executive director. “But our entrepreneurial spirit, dedicated workforce, and quality of life offer opportunities for economic growth. We are pleased to work with VBSR to give our members the chance to meet the candidates and hear how they will address the unique needs of Windham County and help us reach our full potential.”
During the event, all four candidates are expected to say a few words about their vision for their time in office and southern Vermont and answer some questions. The evening will conclude with a networking event featuring a cash bar and hors d’oeuvres. The event is open to public and is free for members of either organization, $10 for nonmembers. It is sponsored by Brattleboro Savings & Loan, Southeastern Vermont Community Action, TD Bank, University of Vermont Continuing and Distance Education, and VSECU.
