Scott campaign chides Democrat party’s waste of taxpayer resources

Vermont Business Magazine Phil Scott for Vermont spokeswoman Brittney Wilson today issued the following statement on the Vermont Democrat Party’s waste of taxpayer resources, regarding the decision by the Vermont attorney general not to pursue an investigation of illegal collaboration between the Scott campaign and an independent organizational over a TV ad.

“Phil Scott is the only candidate in this election with a comprehensive blueprint to grow the economy and address the crisis of affordability affecting many working families and businesses.  Phil knows these are the real issues in this election – there is no candidate who has spent more time listening and learning from Vermonters. Clearly the Vermont Democrat Party feels the need to continuously distract from the real issues in this campaign and their failed economic and fiscal policies.

“Today, the Attorney General informed them that the frivolous accusation filed against our campaign was baseless and without facts.  Perhaps the law should allow the Attorney General to impose a penalty on political parties that abuse the system to distract Vermonters, and the media, from the real issues in this campaign and the challenges facing many Vermonters and their families.”
