Sterling College announces essay contest for $2,500 scholarship

Vermont Business Magazine Students who visit Sterling College during its October 8 Open House are eligible for a $2,500 scholarship to study environmental stewardship. Sterling announced that it is offering a one-time scholarship opportunity for students who submit a 500-word essay by October 7, answering this question: “The year is 2050. Look around and describe how humans live and work in relationship with the environment. How has your work contributed to shaping this future reality?” The essays will be judged by Sterling College President Matthew Derr and the winner will be announced at the October 8 Open House dinner. The student must be present to win.

“Open House is an opportunity for students to learn about the value of a Sterling College education, while hearing about our unique approach to environmental stewardship,” said Chief Enrollment Officer Beana Bern. “We want to provide an immersive experience, as well as getting students to think about their future as stewards of the environment.”
