Vermont Business Magazine Democratic Candidate Sue Minter has announced that her campaign raised $101,819 for the September 1 filing period, outraising her opponent, Phil Scott, by a nearly 2-1 margin. Minter has outraised Scott in every fundraising period this cycle.
| Minter | Scott | |
| Total | $1,159,498 | $948,854.23 |
| September 1st | $101,819 | $55,267 |
| August 15th | $164,699 | $129,253 |
| July 15th | $405,452 | $349,987 |
| March 15th | $487,557 | $414,345 |
Minter has also shown a broad range of grassroots support and energy with 4,140 total contributions to the campaign and 2950 contributions of $100 or less. Meanwhile, Scott has fewer contributions (2523) and fewer contributions of $100 or less (1839).
“Vermonters are supporting Sue because she has a plan to get our economy back on track. Sue will fight to raise the minimum wage and to move toward paid family leave and she’ll be a leader in the effort to combat climate change and clean up Lake Champlain,” said Minter Campaign Manager Molly Ritner. “Sue has shown time and time again that she has the support she needs to be successful and win in November. Given the strength and momentum of Sue's campaign, it’s no surprise that extreme national Republican interests have felt the need to contribute thousands to prop up Scott's campaign."
Minter has accomplished all of this while maintaining her pledge to reject corporate contributions. 99% of Minter’s contributors are individuals.
