NCRC is a private nonprofit volunteer organization consisting of business owners, municipal leaders, community organization leaders, and residents, which serves as a catalyst for economic and community development in Newport’s designated downtown district and the greater Newport City area by advancing and enhancing the economic environment, developing a cohesive and welcoming City design, and promoting the City as a tourism and investment destination.

NCRC collaborates with our local Regional Planning Commission, NVDA, the City of Newport, as well as many volunteer committees.  Projects include Newport Bienvenue (a grant to entice Canadian business, shoppers, and tourists to the area), Business Retention and Recruitment workshops, Downtown Dollars, Flower Pots, local event support, and retaining the Downtown Designation for the City of Newport.

In addition to handling the daily operations of the organization, some of More’s responsibilities will include recruiting and working with volunteers, submitting downtown revitalization grant applications, and creating project awareness and education programs.

More enjoys Newport City’s endless opportunities for some of her favorite pursuits: skiing, tennis, sailing, biking, reading and networking.
