Vermont Business Magazine Sue Minter for Vermont has announced support from 38 Vermont environmentalists from across the state. These endorsements follow the release of two comprehensive environmental policy proposals relating to energy, climate change and clean water. Minter has also called for growing Vermont’s recreational economy, noting that our high environmental standards ensure that the state will continue to attract outdoor industries, as well as visitors and potential employers who enjoy Vermont’s skiing, hiking, mountain biking and other recreational activities.
"I worked with Sue in the Legislature on land conservation, current use and other issues,” said Darby Bradley, former president of the Vermont Land Trust. “She is a strong environmental steward with deep roots in the environmental community. She understands the challenges we face in Vermont. As Governor, she will lead the effort to clean up Lake Champlain, get us to 90% renewable energy by 2050, and continue to develop our great outdoor recreation economy."
Minter has spent much of her career working to protect Vermont’s working landscape and addressing climate change, including representing Vermont on President Obama’s White House Task Force on Climate Preparedness and Resilience.
“I am proud to receive the support and endorsement of this influential group of Vermonters who have devoted much of their personal and professional lives to protecting and preserving what we treasure about our state: clean air and water, thoughtful development and open land conservation, working farms and forests, clean energy and so much more,” Minter said. “This shared commitment to Vermont’s environment is critical not only to our quality of life, but Vermont’s economic growth and prosperity.”
Sue has also been endorsed by Fmr. Governor Madeliene Kunin, Fmr. Governor Phil Hoff, Fmr. Lt. Governor Doug Racine and EMILY's List.
