NG Advantage, General Transportation celebrate new facilities in Milton

Vermont Business Magazine More than 70 employees, business partners, and local officials joined NG Advantage and General Transportation on June 23rd  to celebrate their new facilities in the Catamount Industrial Park in Milton. In 2013, the two companies partnered to make the first US delivery of compressed natural gas (CNG) to an industrial customer. Since that time both NG Advantage, the pioneer in “virtual pipeline” service, and General Transportation, a New England trucking company specializing in hauling fuel, have grown dramatically. “Our customers have saved millions of dollars in fuel costs and reduced CO2 emissions by over 230,000,000 pounds since we enabled them to replace oil with cleaner and cheaper natural gas even though they are not located on pipelines. Our commitment to superior customer service, safety, and dependability, is shared by more than 50 people General Transportation and NG Advantage have hired locally,” said NG Advantage CEO Tom Evslin.

The modern NG Advantage building will accommodate the NG Advantage operations, maintenance, safety, and engineering personnel. They have been working in construction trailers since operations began in 2013.

A luncheon reception followed the NG Advantage ribbon cutting at General Transportation’s 13,000 square foot new facility nearby and in the Catamount Industrial Park. The facility has heated bays and parking for trucks, and a special maintenance bay for NG Advantage trailers. The state-of-the art terminal is equipped with a special air recovery system that can detect and alert employees to any gas leaks.

After the luncheon General Transportation’s General Manager, Paul Noonan, thanked his family and NG Advantage for their continued support. In a moving dedication of the building to his deceased brother, Michael Sullivan Noonan, Paul Noonan said, “Michael died of cancer at the age of 35 and in his short life he made a mark. He was caring, intelligent, funny, and truly was the best of all of us.” Concluding the event, Mr. Noonan then unveiled and presented a plaque to their father, Peter Noonan, Sr., as a tribute to his brother Michael.
