Vermont Business Magazine The Vermont National Guard is preparing to go to bid on a major construction project for apron replacement and taxiway upgrade at the Air National Guard Base located at the Burlington International Airport. The project is slated to start late this fall and continue through to fall of 2017. The project is estimated at greater than $25 million.
"This infrastructure improvement project will benefit the Vermont National Guard, create jobs, and spur economic development in Chittenden County and surrounding areas. I am proud to be the Governor of the state with the finest National Guard in the nation," said Governor Shumlin.
"This project shows our commitment to maintain and improve our infrastructure. A project of this magnitude will also benefit out local economy," said Major General Cray, adjutant general of Vermont.
