Vermont Business Magazine Vermont’s Killington Resort hosted the East Coast’s largest and most lucrative rail jam, Rails 2 Riches, on Saturday, December 9, 2017. The event dished out more than $25,000 in prize money to skiers and snowboarders with seven New England athletes on the podium, taking the cash home. “Year and after year we are thrilled with the Rails 2 Riches event—it’s an incredible opportunity for local and international skiers and riders to check out what Killington Parks has to offer,” says Mike Garceau, youth marketing & actions sports manager of Killington Resort and Pico Mountain. “Nearly 100 athletes from the USA and Canada participated in this invitation only event and each one left excited to come back for next season’s contest.”
“This is my fourth year competing in Rails 2 Riches,” says Maggie Leon, a Killington athlete and student at the University of Vermont. “I come back every year because it’s really cool to see more and more girls that I don’t always have a chance to ride with. We are all friends and it’s really cool to see all of us compete and get to hangout for the day.”
