Vermont Business Magazine The Snelling Center for Government is pleased to announce the graduates of the Early Childhood Leadership Institute Class of 2017.The Early Childhood Leadership Institute is a unique leadership and personal transformative institute, initiated in 2014 to stimulate enthusiasm for and effective participation in efforts to improve early childhood work in Vermont. The Class of 2017 became the 3rd graduating class with graduates joining a professional network of more than 900 Vermont Leadership Network Alumni.

The Class of 2017 met for 12 seminar days over six months starting in May 2017 and concluding on October 28, 2017 at the Commencement Ceremony held at Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe. Graduates were recognized for their dedication to gaining leadership skills and a deeper understanding of the science and landscape of early childhood issues in Vermont and their commitment to making greater contributions in their organizations, communities and Vermont moving forward. Jane Lindholm, host of the award-winning Vermont Public Radio program Vermont Edition, gave the keynote address. As host and creator to But Why: A Podcast For Curious Kids as well, Lindholm was well-suited to address the crowd of early childhood professionals and elicited chuckles as she shared some of the questions kids ask. Lindholm spoke of her own experiences in the world of early childhood as the mother of two young children and applauded the class for their endless energy, often with boots on the ground themselves, in helping to raise the next generation of Vermonters.
The Early Childhood Leadership Institute is an initiative of the 2014 Race to the Top, Early Learning Challenge grant.
