Bullrock completes 2.6 megawatt solar array in Westminster

Vermont Business MagazineShelburne-based Bullrock Corporation has completed a 2.6 megawatt solararray in Westminster. The array consists of 7,500 panels and generates enough electricity to power over 300 homes. The site hasbeen constructed on a former gravel pit. The electricity that’s generatedby this solar field will be credited to the Vermont Army National Guard, who will bereceiving the benefits from this project for at least 20 years.

“We are extremely excited about theWestminster project,”Bullrock CEO Gregg Beldock said. “This an excellent example ofadaptive land use, taking land that was otherwise unusable and bringingit to life through the use of solar. In addition, we’re very proud to beworking with the Vermont Army National Guard and helping them generatetheir own electricity, and thus reducing their overall costs. It’s a win forthem and it’s a win for the environment”.

The Bullrock Corporationdevelops, constructs and finances solar projects in and around NewEngland. The company is responsible for almost 30 Megawatts ofsolar through 2017.
