Rutland Regional coordinates annual Adopt-A-Family & Silver Stocking Programs

Staff from the Diagnostic Imaging Department at Rutland Regional donating gifts

Vermont Business Magazine Rutland Regional Medical Center has two long-standing holiday traditions that benefit local community members: theSilver StockingProgram andAdopt-A-Family.Through the Silver Stocking Program, individual employees or departments, as well as local businesses and community organizations can “adopt” a person who is low income, has special needs, is at risk of becoming homeless or resides in a long-term care facility, with minimal or no family support.

Adopt-A-Familyenables RRMC to make a difference in the lives of underserved families within the Rutland region. RRMC internal staff, local businesses, and community organizations can choose to “adopt” a family. On December 17, all of the donated wrapped gifts are then dropped off at the CVPS/Leahy Community Education Center at RRMC and redistributed to these individuals and families. The generosity and participation among staff and the community is unparalleled. When you see all of the presents gathered in one place, it really feels like Santa’s Workshop.
