Vermont Business MagazineBrattleboro Memorial Hospital (BMH) will host an open house to unveil the hospital’s new surgical robot on Friday, November 30 from 11 am to 3 pm. Open to community members and the media, the event will feature the hospital’s recently acquired MAKO robotic-arm assisted surgical machine.BMH is the first and only hospital in Vermont to offer this surgical experience.
Representatives from the Michigan-based medical device and equipment company, Stryker, along with BMH medical staff, will be on hand to provide demonstrations of how the robot operates and answer questions about the surgical process.

“It is important for us to host this open house, as we wanted our friends and neighbors to see first-hand the latest technology available to them right in their backyard,” explained BMH President and CEO Steven R. Gordon.“Oftentimes, surgery can seem intimidating for patients, so for those who may need or be considering knee replacement surgery, this is a wonderful opportunity to explore this option and familiarize themselves with our new medical equipment.”
