"Thanks to our dedicated snowmaking team opening day terrain includes top-to-bottom skiing and riding on 15 groomed trails across 88 acres, with as many as 28 expected for the weekend," Stratton announced in a press release.

“It’s been a Thanksgiving tradition to get together with friends and family for opening day. It’s beyond skiing and riding,” says Bill Nupp, Stratton Mountain’s president and COO. “We’re looking forward to see old friends and new faces visiting our slopes with the Ikon Pass.”

As a thank you to skiers and riders, free waffles will be served out of BaseCamp, Stratton’s newest dining experience located alongside the gondola, to the first 500 guests.

The start of the season also means the start of the holidays here at Stratton. On Nov. 22, the annual Gobble Gobble Wobble 5k will be held in Stratton Village before Thanksgiving dinner is served at Table 43.1.
