Vermont Business Magazine Randolph-based Catamount Solar is offering a new program for electric vehicle owners. Catamount will include a Level 2 Car-Charging Stationfreewith any 7kW or larger system purchased from them. The new program supports Catamount Solar’s mission to help Vermonters lower their carbon footprint and achieve the state’s renewable energy goals.
Co-founder, Dan Kinney said, "The car charging station is a terrific value for folks with electric vehicles. A two stage charger can fully charge much quicker than the charger that comes with the vehicle. Catamount Solar is committed to help all Vermont citizens find their path to energy independence."
The employee-owners of Catamount Solar are also breaking new ground with a 15-year workmanship warranty on their solar PV system installations. It is the longest such warranty offered by any Vermont solar company. “Real pride of ownership means we stand behind our work 100%”, said co-founder Kevin McCollister.
Catamount Solar was established in 2011 as an LLC organized as a workers' cooperative. Rather than just employees, all company workers are members of (or on track to become members of) the cooperative, sharing its ownership responsibilities and receiving compensation dependent on company profit, and in proportion to their contributed labor.
