Vermont Business Magazine Tender Loving Homecare, Inc of Barre is undertaking a construction, renovation and remodeling event, or old-fashioned barn-raising, for Tender Loving Respite House. The house, located next door to Tender Loving Home Care at 15 Ayers Street, is a 9,200-square-foot Victorian which will soon become transitional housing for hospice and palliative care patients, those undergoing Cancer or other treatments at nearby facilities and others.
The event will take place on Saturday, November 3rd at 9 am. Tender Loving Homecare seeks volunteers with construction experience to help with siding the building, and other renovation efforts taking place during the day. Food and beverages will be served to volunteers.
“We are very excited to be at this stage of development for this much-needed facility,” enthused Roslyn Haldane, CEO of Tender Loving Homecare, Inc.. “As a non-profit, the Tender Loving Respite House depends on financial, and in-kind donations as well as great deal of volunteer and community support.” Haldane expanded. “We’ve had an overwhelming level of support for this project and hope that the “Barn- Raising Event” will be an opportunity for many others to help out and show their support.
Numerous local businesses have contributed to the Tender Loving Respite House “Barn Raising” including: Isabelle Electric, Noyle Johnson, Keene Medical, Midstate Dodge, Vermont Mutual, Lowe’s, Kiwanis, and private donors. Tender Loving Homecare, Inc. plans to open the new respite house in the Spring of 2019.
“There’s much to be done to this beautiful old building before opening this type of facility,” stated Haldane. “However, everything is moving forward on time and on schedule thanks to our many supporters, donors and volunteers.”
The Tender Loving Respite House will serve children, adults, elderly individuals and will have four rooms specifically designated for US Veterans.

The 9,200 square-foot facility will also feature two apartments that will service as housing for families of patients who are unable to afford to stay elsewhere. The Tender Loving Respite House will serve children, adults, elderly individuals and US Veterans.
