Vermont Business Magazine In a continuing commitment to investing in the growth and success of its employees and the Vermont community, FoodScience Corporation today announced that it will increase the company’s minimum wage across the business to $15 per hour. The change will impact all hourly employees, and represents a second wage increase this year for these employees.
“Nearly 100 employees will receive a permanent direct wage increase this month as the company increases minimum starting wage to $15 per hour,” said Gina Walter, HR Manager. “This is a $1.25 increase over the current $13.75 sharing wage current offered by FoodScience.”
As part of this change, the company also plans to adjust pay ranges and rates for all of its hourly workforce to ensure sustainable wage and a competitive compensation structure that supports the company’s business growth plans.
FoodScience employs about 150.
“As part of our ongoing commitment to our employees, as well as the customers and communities we serve, we are investing in our employees in Vermont,” said Sharon Rossi, FoodScience CEO. “Today we are building on the investments we’ve been making in our employees, their wages, and their skills development. It is our people who drive our performance and we appreciate how hard they work every day to serve our customers and deliver on our purpose of helping people and pets live healthier lives every day.”
Dom Orlandi, President of FoodScience added “Our Vermont values guide us to do the right thing. As a private woman-owned, family-owned business, we believe investing in our employees. My grandparents founded FoodScience over 45 years ago and started our legacy of belief in our people and cherishing the critical role they play in FoodScience’s success.”
This increase in wages to employees takes effect in June and will be approximately $0.3 million incremental to what was already included in the fiscal year plan.
