Vermont Business MagazineThis year at the annual sofi Awards, Vermont specialty food producers brought home three gold awards. The sofi Awards, which stands for “specialty outstanding food innovation,” are the most prestigious awards in the specialty food industry and honor excellence across a variety of food categories, from vinegars to vegan snacks. Vermont’s gold winners were Vermont Creamery, Mount Mansfield Maple Products, and Blake Hill Preserves.
“Vermont is a leader when it comes to delicious, locally sourced food. Our agricultural entrepreneurs provide consumers with some of the best and innovative food products,” said Anson Tebbetts, Vermont’s Secretary of Agriculture. “Vermont is a winner with the quality, authenticity, and flavor of the products these companies are making, while also growing our economy. Congratulations to all of our winners!”
Vermont Creamery won gold in the cheese category for their Cremont cheese. It’s a blend of cow and goat milks, with a hint of Vermont cream.
Mount Mansfield Maple Products won gold for the dessert topping category for their Single Malt Barrel Aged Pure Vermont Maple Syrup, which is Vermont made maple syrup that rests in previously used charred oak barrels.
Blake Hill Preserves won gold in the jam category for their Cardamom-infused Meyer Lemon Marmalade.
“It's no surprise that Vermont’s specialty food producers continue to be among the top-ranked in the nation for outstanding food innovation,” said Erin Sigrist, President of Vermont Specialty Food Association. “Vermont's specialty food makers are an incredibly diverse, hardworking, and pioneering group of people. We are proud of the remarkable work they have accomplished this year, and the additions they've made to our landscape and the Vermont brand."

- Runamok Maple – Dessert Sauce (Best New)
