Stowe celebrates 40th anniversary of National Travel and Tourism Week, May 7 - 13

Stowe area businesses to offer special promotions and host events all week long during annual celebration of the U.S. travel industry focusing on “Travel Forward”

Vermont Business Magazine Stowe Area Association (SAA) celebrates the travel and tourism industry during National Travel and Tourism Week (NTTW) from May 7-13, an annual celebration of the contributions of the U.S. travel industry. The theme for this year's NTTW “Travel Forward” will spotlight the essential role that travel plays in driving economic growth and innovation.

Celebrated annually the first full week in May, NTTW was created by Congress in 1983 to elevate the economic power of travel in the U.S. The 40th annual NTTW is a chance to celebrate and highlight those who make our industry what it is: business owners, town leadership, our visitors, and our community.

“The Vermont travel and tourism industry has a $3.2 billion annual economic impact and employs 10% of the Vermont workforce. Stowe wouldn’t be the destination it is without the local industry professionals who make our town so special for visitors and locals alike,” said Carrie Simmons, executive director, Stowe Area Association. “We can show our support of our local friends and neighbors by taking advantage of the several area businesses offering special promotions and events throughout the week as we celebrate this invaluable industry.”

Through NTTW, SAA aims to promote the importance of travel and tourism and the positive effects it has on our community's economic health. We encourage everyone to join us in celebrating this essential industry and all that it does to support our community. Special NTTW promotions and events include:

Experience and Activity Promotions

Shopping Promotions

Restaurant Promotions

Lodging Promotions

Transportation Promotion
