VMEC board elections, broadband map, lean management plan

Vermont Manufacturing Extension Center VMEC has announced the results of its December 6, 2022, annual election of VMEC Advisory Board members.

Newly elected to the VMEC Advisory Board for two-year terms were Melissa Bounty, Assistant Director, Central Vermont Economic Development Corporation (Montpelier) and Cristin O’Donnell, Director of Training and Development, Cabot Creamery Cooperative/ Agri-Mark Inc. (Waitsfield). Dr. Parwinder Grewal, Ph.D., President, Vermont State University (Randolph Center) was designated an ex-officio Advisory Board member.

Re-elected for additional two year terms to the board are Ben Clark, CEO, Ann Clark Ltd. (Rutland); Greg Maguire, General Counsel and Director of Business Strategy, Liquid Measurement Systems (Georgia); Ken McAvey, Fab 9 Vice President and General Manager, GlobalFoundries (Essex Junction) and Pat Moulton, Executive Director, Vermont State Colleges Workforce Division (Randolph Center and Lyndonville).

Leaving the board having fulfilled their terms are Bob Flint, Executive Director, Springfield Regional Development Corporation (Springfield); Dave Lynn, Interim CEO, Cabot Creamery Cooperative/ Agri-Mark Inc. (Waitsfield); Dr. Christopher Koliba, President's Fellow for Engagement & Professor of Community Development & Applied Economics, University of Vermont (Burlington) and Rob Green, Senior Customer Success Manager, Leading2Lean (St. Albans). VMEC wishes to thank them for their years of service.

Mike Rainville, President, Maple Landmark Woodcraft (Middlebury) was also re-elected as Chairperson of the VMEC Advisory Board for an additional 1-year term; 2022 marked Mike’s 25th anniversary on the VMEC board, either as a member or its president. VCBB asking all Vermonters to check their address for accuracy

Getting as many people as possible to check their addresses and challenge incorrect information could mean tens of millions of additional federal dollars to get all Vermonters connected to broadband.

The Vermont Community Broadband Board (VCBB) is asking Vermont’s employers, universities, colleges, hospitals, and other institutions to help spread the word to their employees, students, patients, and networks about the importance of challenging the FCC National Broadband Map. January 13 is the deadline to challenge locations incorrectly classified on the new FCC Map. To file a challenge, visit FCC National Broadband Map and type in your address.
