MRGP Permit Out for Public Review
The Agency of Natural Resources is providing public notice of the draft General Permit 3-9040 for Stormwater Discharges from Municipal Roads (MRGP). The draft identifies, prioritizes, and remediates stormwater runoff from municipal roads. A copy of the MRGP and related documents may be downloaded Here. The public is invited to provide written comment until Oct. 24th. Comments should be emailed to Jim Ryan [email protected] or mailed to DEC Stormwater Program, 1 National Life Drive, 3rd Floor Davis Building, Montpelier 05620-3522.

Steering Committee Recommends Lyndon-Lyndonville Merger
A Merger Steering Committee has concluded that Lyndon and Lyndonville should be joined together into a single entity and a recommendation was made to the Select Board and Village Trustees that a united town and village would be more efficient, effective, and equitable. The two governing boards held public hearings in September before deciding to send the merger proposal to voters on November 8th. If voters approve, a draft Town Charter will be submitted to the Legislature next year. For more information visit www.lyndonvt.org/town-village-merger-info.
Tax Credit Funding Awarded to NEK Designated Downtown & Village Centers
Governor Scott and the Agency of Commerce & Community Development announced tax Incentives for five building improvement and public infrastructure projects in the Northeast Kingdom. The investments support local businesses, create new housing, and improve the rehabilitation and revitalization in four of the region's designated downtown and village centers.
- 28 Cross St., Island Pond for renovations and code improvements to the mixed-use commercial building.
- 12 Railroad St., Island Pond Facade tax credit to improve the grocery store's curb appeal.
- 127 Church St., Hardwick - Facade tax credit to support exterior repairs to the Hardwick Town House, run by Northeast Kingdom Arts.
- 100 Church St., Barton for the installation of an ADA-compliant restroom in the Barton Public Library.
- 443 Railroad St., St. Johnsbury for code improvements to the mixed-use commercial block.

The federal-state partnership initiative aims to increase the number of small businesses seeking to export their products into foreign markets and/or expand export activity through trade shows, trade missions, market research, and export education. The profile contains snapshots about the businesses that create jobs and help grow our local economies. Vermont has 78,883 small businesses, most of which are sole proprietorships. Hospitality HVAC Assistance Program The VT Public Service Department is seeking proposals for the Hospitality HVAC Assistance Program. The program offers relief to businesses in the hospitality, tourism, and travel services industry that were negatively impacted by Covid-19. Funds granted through ARPA (American Rescue Plan Act) are for repairs, replacements, or upgrades to heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems. The goal is energy-cost reduction/stabilization. Grants can be up to $25,000.
