Vermont Business Magazine The Vermont Agency of Natural Resources is providing $3.75 million in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) grants to help manufactured housing communities address water infrastructure and 3-Acre stormwater issues. This funding (https://bit.ly/3BXr9Lw) will ensure residents in these communities have access to safe drinking water, wastewater, stormwater, and drainage systems.
Examples of eligible activities include assessing what projects could be undertaken in the future, designing, and permitting these projects, connecting to municipal water or wastewater, retrofitting stormwater practices, meeting 3-Acre stormwater requirements, installing drinking water or wastewater projects, and more.
Interested parties are invited to attend a question-and-answer session on Microsoft Teams | (https://bit.ly/MHCsession) or Call In/Audio Only at 802-828-7667, Phone Conference ID: 899640957# on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, from 12:00-1:00 pm to learn more and ask any questions about the process.
Manufactured housing community residents, owners, and partners are invited to apply for grants by July 27, 2022. Eligible communities can be cooperatively/resident owned, non-profit entities, or privately owned. Applicants will be notified of first round awards by September 9th, 2022. Awards must be spent prior to the end of 2026.
“This funding is an incredible opportunity to help residents of manufactured housing communities’ access healthier, more resilient living spaces,” said DEC Interim Commissioner John Beling. “Helping these communities address these issues that have been lingering and historically underfunded will ensure all Vermonters have safe housing and a clean environment.”
Grants can be used to determine what water infrastructure projects need to be completed, receive technical and permitting assistance including 3-Acre stormwater permit assistance, or cover construction costs necessary to fix existing infrastructure issues. Additional funding is anticipated in future fiscal years.
For those with accessibility needs, the Agency has a dedicated staff member who can help fill out the application. Contact Jackie Peterson at 802-461-7128 or [email protected].
