PK Coffee brews community support for affordable housing

Vermont Business Magazine PK Coffee and Lamoille Housing Partnership (LHP) are teaming up to generate community support for affordable housing in Stowe and surrounding communities in Lamoille County.

“Housing has become a big issue for PK,” says PK Coffee Owner Katrina Veerman. “Stowe lacks housing options that are affordable, which makes it very challenging for businesses in town to hire and keep great people. Affordable housing supports a robust live and work environment, foundations for the long-term health of Stowe. Our community needs more of it.”

On Wednesday June 15, the Stowe cafe is hosting a raffle and fundraiser to benefit LHP, the region’s primary nonprofit affordable housing developer. An LHP representative will be at the cafe for a meet and greet.

“We’re appreciative that PK Coffee is with us in this work as a housing advocacy partner. Community support of affordable housing projects is critical to creating housing that is affordable at every income level in the communities where we work,” says LHP Public Relations Manager, Kerrie Lohr.

To participate in the raffle, visit PK Coffee’s Stowe location at 1940 Mountain Road on June 15th from 7:30AM to 10AM. Purchases throughout the day benefit LHP’s Housing Opportunity Fund, which provides financial resources for the nonprofit’s affordable housing project development.
