State to sell surplus tires to the public

Vermont Business Magazine The Department of Buildings and General Services Surplus Property program will be offering more than 800 nearly new tires for sale to the public while supplies last, through May 7, 2022.

Tires can be seen by appointment Monday through Friday at the Agency of Transportation Central Garage located at 1756 US Route 302, in Berlin, Vermont, across from the Wayside Restaurant.

“Because of the abundance of tires that were stored due to the pandemic, Surplus Property is selling an accumulated inventory of approximately 800 tires, the majority of which are in new or nearly new condition,” said State’s Surplus Property Coordinator Sarah Grenier. “We are hopeful that making these tires available to the public will benefit Vermonters.”

Tires will be sold only in sets of four (4) matching tires. The cost for a set of four tires varies by size:

• 15” tires | $150

• 16” tires | $200

• 17” tires | $250

• 18” tires | $300.

All tires are sold as-is where-is, and there are no refunds. There is a limit of 4 sets (16 tires) per individual or business. A list of the available tires can be found by visiting bgs.vermont.gov and clicking “Online Surplus Store”.
