Vermont Business Magazine With a new gift of $50,000, NorthCountry Federal Credit Union’s support of children at the Greater Burlington YMCA has reached a remarkable total of $1,000,000. For more than a decade, NorthCountry has been the Y’s Community Partner for Youth Development, supporting the organization’s work to nurture the potential of every child.

In a check presentation earlier this week at the Y, NorthCountry CEO Bob Morgan shared this milestone gift with Y President and CEO Kyle Dodson.

“NorthCountry’s support of youth is truly extraordinary,” Dodson said. “That NorthCountry’s generosity has continued through the challenges of the past few years speaks to the depth of their commitment to the youngest citizens in our community.”

As the Y’s Community Partner for Youth Development, NorthCountry focuses its support on ensuring that children and families, regardless of financial means, have access to high-quality early child care, engaging afterschool programs, enriching summer camp experiences, and life-saving water safety class.

“Every dollar committed to supporting the Y’s youth programs has been an investment in the future of our community,” said Bob Morgan, CEO of NorthCountry Federal Credit Union. “The safe and engaging environment at the Y sets children on a lifelong path of discovering how they shine, and how they can use that light to achieve goals for themselves and their community. We are proud to have helped ensure as many children as possible have had the benefit of experiencing the power of the Y.”

Dodson noted, “NorthCountry, their employees, and their members have stood with our community’s children for more than a decade. Imagine that in the lifespan of just one child: Supported by NorthCountry’s partnership, a child could have gone from Y preschool to now being in high school and serving as a Y lifeguard. It’s this kind of impact on the lives of countless children that makes us so grateful for NorthCountry’s continued generosity.”
