The Early Promise Program empowers members to pursue a post-secondary degree after high school by providing financial assistance. It is the belief of The Boys and Girls Club of Burlington that the most effective way to break the cycle of poverty is through education. By pursuing higher education or completing a training program after high school, a good job and greater economic advantage will follow.
The Boys & Girls Club of Burlington encourages all its members to commit to their education by making a promise by the sixth grade to do well in school and continue their education after high school. For any Club Member who achieves academic success and goes on to pursue a post-secondary degree, financial assistance is provided. Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Club of Burlington, Tanya Benosky says “It is our goal to remove the financial burden associated with college so that all children, despite their financial status, are able to attend college after high school and realize their full potential.”
The Boys & Girls Club of Burlington’s mission is to inspire and enable community youth, especially those who need them most, to realize their full potential as productive, healthy, responsible and caring citizens.
