Grant programs available for economic recovery, outdoor rec

UPDATE: ECONOMIC RECOVERY FUNDING

The Economic Recovery Bridge Program is open and now accepting applications for any business that can show continued revenue loss due to COVID-19. Previous priority was given to those businesses who had yet to receive any state or federal funding. Applications are now being accepted and processed for any business that can show additional loss beyond funds already received.

OUTDOOR RECREATION GRANT OPPORTUNITIES

Last week the Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation (FPR) launched the 2021 VOREC Community Grant Program and the new Enhancement of Recreational Stewardship and Access (ERSA) Trail Grants Program.

Together these programs have over $6 million in one-time state general funds to distribute to non-profit organizations and municipalities across Vermont. This funding is a portion of the more than $20 million Governor Scott directed for spending on outdoor recreation investments that support both short-term economic recovery and long-term stewardship of lands, waters, people, and local economies.

Today Monday, July 19 from 4:30pm to 6:00pm FPR will host a detailed overview of both programs and the application process. The workshop will also be recorded and posted online afterwards for anyone who can’t attend.

GOVERNMENT LODGING OPPORTUNITIES

The Vermont Procurement and Technical Assistance Center (VT-PTAC) will be hosting a webinar to assist Vermont lodging facilities with understanding and registering for the FedRooms lodging program. FedRooms allows lodging facilities to join a pre-approved list of vendors to bid on government lodging contracts. The deadline to submit a business case is July 30, 2021.

The free VT-PTAC webinar to discuss the program and application process will be held Tuesday, July 20th at 10:00am.

TRAVEL AND RECREATION COUNCIL MEETING

The next meeting of the Governor’s Travel and Recreation Council will be this Thursday, July 22nd from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Shelburne Vineyards in Shelburne. All are welcomed to join this meeting as the Council will hear updates on VDTM marketing campaigns, legislative items, and from a panel of community leaders on strategies around the implementation of regional marketing grants.
