NIGHT WORK: Night work operations will begin on May 2nd and continue throughout the construction season. The contractor plans to work Sundays starting at 9:00 PM through Saturdays ending at 5:30 PM, weekly. The day shift will be from 6:30 AM to 5:30 PM. The night shift will be from 9:00 PM to 6:30 AM. We will inform you of any changes to this schedule.
The work at night will be a continuation of the same construction activities during the day. The purpose of this work at night is to ensure that the majority of remaining construction is complete this season.

TRAFFIC IMPACT: US Route 2 at the temporary drawbridge is open to two lanes of traffic.
The temporary bridge has a speed limit of 25 mph. There are tight curves approaching the temporary bridge, and trucks are advised to reduce speed to 15 mph. Bicycles should use caution while crossing the bridge.
The work zone speed limit is enforced, and individuals have been ticketed for excessive speeding. Obeying the speed limit is extremely important for everyone's safety.
CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES: On the west side of the existing bridge, the contractor installed formwork and steel reinforcement for the first story pier walls. They plan to pour concrete for the north and south walls this week.
On the east side of the existing bridge, the contractor poured concrete for the first story pier walls.
NOTICE TO MARINERS: The drawbridge will resume openings on May 15, 2021. All mariners must pass with extreme caution and NO WAKE.
LOCATION: US Route 2, drawbridge connecting North Hero and Grand Isle, VT.
PROJECTED COMPLETION: Summer 2023
