Restaurant Revitalization Fund Application and Guidelines Announced

The US Small Business Administration (SBA) announced new details about application requirements and eligibility for the upcoming Restaurant Revitalization Fund (RRF). The opening date for the application portal has not yet been announcement but is expected in the weeks ahead.

RRF will provide restaurants with funding equal to their pandemic-related revenue loss up to $10 million per business and no more than $5 million per physical location. Recipients are not required to repay the funding if funds are used for eligible uses no later than March 11, 2023.

ACCD and the SBA strongly encourage Vermont restaurants, brew pubs, food trucks, coffee shops, bars and all other potential applicants to look through the website and prepare their documents. To review initial program details, ACCD and the SBA will hold a webinar on Wednesday, April 21st at 3:00pm for businesses owners.

Community Development Block Grant CARES Act Funding (CDBG-CV)

The Department of Housing and Community Development is accepting applications from municipalities throughout Vermont for CDBG-CV funding through the Municipal Public Facility and Service Program for activities related to COVID-19.

Nearly $1.8 million remains to assist communities and non-profits with grants for public facility and service projects that have an unmet need due to COVID-19. Applications must be submitted by the municipality where the project is located. Funding will be on a first come, first served basis and will be awarded through a competitive application process. Grants range from $5,000 to $200,000. Projects serving 70% low- and moderate-income individuals, as well as projects in an area-wide, low- and moderate-income community, will be prioritized.

If you are struggling with your mortgage, rent, utilities and other housing expenses because of COVID-19, your local Home Ownership Center can help. They have HUD-approved counselors on staff and available to help you obtain the assistance you need to keep your home.

These housing counseling services, provided to any household affected by COVID-19, are a collaborative effort between the Vermont Community Development Program administering the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG-CV) funds and the organizations who operate Homeownership Centers in Vermont: Champlain Housing Trust, Downstreet Housing and Community Development, RuralEdge, NeighborWorks of Western Vermont, and Windham and Windsor Housing Trust.
