Realtors support the community through annual food drive

Vermont Business Magazine The real estate community in northwestern Vermont is once again coming together to support local food shelves. The Community Service Committee for the Northwestern Vermont Board of Realtors (NVBR) has launched its annual food drive.

Due to the pandemic, the Committee has altered the fundraiser by foregoing the physical collection of food. Instead, the Committee is seeking donations from the NVBR members including Realtors® and businesses affiliated with the real estate community.

“The Committee set a goal of raising $4,000 through contributions and I am happy to report we have exceeded the halfway point raising over $2,200,” said Lauren Gaffney-Cohen, Chair of the Community Service Committee. “The food drive runs through April 22 so there is plenty of time to reach our goal and help local food shelves who are facing a higher demand due to the pandemic.”

Five businesses are serving as this year’s Food Drive Sponsors: Bauer Gravel Farnham, Gale & McAllister, Law Offices of Fred Peet, Movement Mortgage and Vermont Mortgage Company. Each sponsor has pledged $200 to this year’s Food Drive.

“NVBR would like to thank this year’s sponsors,” said Mike Berk, NVBR Chief Executive Officer, “Their support provided a great start for what we believe will be a successful Food Drive that will benefit our community.”

Anyone interested in supporting the NVBR Food Drive can make a contribution through the NVBR website at www.nvbr.com.

The Northwestern Vermont Board of Realtors (NVBR) is a non-profit trade association representing over 700 Realtors® and affiliated business in Chittenden, Franklin, and Grand Isle Counties.
