Interstates:
Bethel-Brookfield, I-89 Paving – Fine-milling and paving operations continue southbound Tuesday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., weather permitting. Motorists should expect grooved pavement, uneven lanes, and temporary lane closures on I-89 with speed reductions to 55 mph within any active construction areas.
Montpelier-Waterbury, I-89 South Paving – Motorists will encounter minimal daytime delays between Exits 8 and 10 Tuesday through Friday. The speed limit is reduced to 55 mph, and fines will be doubled.
Newbury-Ryegate, I-91 Paving – Paving continues on between Exits 17 and 18. A single-lane closure will be in place beginning on Wednesday or Thursday with a speed limit reduction to 55 mph. Motorcyclists should watch for grooved and uneven surfaces.
Royalton, I-89 Bridge Rehabilitation – Work continues near Exit 3 with crossovers in place until fall 2027. The speed limit is 55 mph with a 15-foot width restriction in both directions on I-89. The speed limit on VT 107 is 30 mph with a 14-foot height restriction under Bridge 26S.
State Highways:
Addison, VT 17 Paving – Ditching will continue throughout the week. Expect delays from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Barre-East Montpelier, VT 14 Resurfacing – Paving and guardrail work continues. From 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., multiple work zones with single-lane closures and alternating traffic patterns controlled by flaggers will be in place. Motorcyclists should watch for grooved and uneven surfaces. Though scheduled for off-peak traffic periods, moderate delays are anticipated when paving occurs near the intersection of U.S. 2.
Barre Town, Railroad Crossing Improvements – Tuesday through Friday during daytime hours, Quarry Hill Road will be reduced to one lane with alternating traffic controlled by flaggers or temporary traffic signals. From 9 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday, Quarry Hill Road will be closed at the railroad crossing, with traffic detoured via Quarry Street, VT 14, U.S. 302, VT 110, and Websterville Road, for railroad track and tie installation.
Bennington, Bridge 6 Replacement (VT 9/Main Street) – VT 9/Main Street remains closed between Morgan and Beech Streets through early June. A signed detour is in place. Beech Street and Morgan Street also remain closed at their intersections with VT 9/Main Street, with no access to the main roadway.
Bennington, VT 67A Roundabout Construction – A peanut roundabout construction project continues. College Drive and Matteson Road (Rice Ln) will remain closed at VT 67A until noon on Friday, with traffic maintained via signed detour routes. Once reopened, VT 67A traffic will shift north onto the roundabout.
Brattleboro, U.S. 5, VT 142, VT 9, and VT 30 Paving – This paving project is reaching completion. From 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Tuesday night through Friday morning, a mobile work zone will be present. Uniformed Traffic Officers will provide a follow-along vehicle and may direct alternating traffic patterns through short lane closures as needed.
Brattleboro, VT 9 Class 1 Paving – Paving is scheduled for VT 9 between the Greenleaf Street intersection and the I-91 Exit 2 interchange. From 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Tuesday night through Friday morning, single-lane closures with alternating traffic patterns controlled by flaggers will be present. Motorcyclists should watch for grooved and uneven surfaces.
Brattleboro-Putney, U.S. 5 Resurfacing – Guardrail installation and milling and paving of driveways and side roads is scheduled between 7 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Flaggers will control alternating traffic through single-lane closures and intersections. Motorists should anticipate delays in this area. A single-lane closure is also scheduled for bridge maintenance on U.S. 5 in Brattleboro. From 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Tuesday night through Friday morning, flaggers will direct traffic through the work zone on the bridge over the West River south of the Spring Tree Lane intersection.
Colchester, I-89 Exit 16 Diverging Diamond Interchange – Tuesday evening through Saturday morning, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., U.S. 2/7 between the I-89 South ramps and I-89 North ramps will have lane closures with traffic shifted for milling and boxcutting work. Tuesday morning through Friday afternoon, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., U.S. 2/7 between South Park Drive and the I-89 South ramps will have lane closures for roadway maintenance, traffic signal work, and sidewalk grading. Motorists should expect significant delays and rough conditions. Please drive slow, be alert, and consider alternate routes.
Colchester, I-89 Exit 17 Interchange Improvements – On Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., U.S. 2 eastbound will have a lane reduction and traffic shift on the new bridge to allow crews to perform test coring, with two-way traffic maintained.
Colchester-Essex, VT-15 Paving – For this resurfacing project between the Colchester/Winooski town line and Susie Wilson Road on VT-15, motorists can expect slow two-way travel Tuesday through Thursday from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Derby, U.S. 5 and Alt. U.S. 5 Paving – Utility structure work and sign installation are scheduled for Tuesday through Friday. From 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., flaggers will control alternating traffic patterns through single-lane closures.
Derby-Newport, VT 191 Resurfacing – Paving continues on VT 191. Single-lane closures will be in place from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. Flaggers will control alternating traffic patterns and intersections as needed.
Elmore, VT 12 Bridge #90 Replacement – Work will continue for the footing at the second abutment. Traffic on VT 12 near the North Branch Cascades Trail will be one lane with alternating traffic controlled by flaggers Tuesday through Friday between 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and by a temporary signal outside of work hours. The speed limit has been reduced to 30 mph through the project area.
Elmore, VT 12 Bridge #94 Replacement – Crews will install sheeting to support the abutments of the temporary bridge. Traffic on VT 12 near Camp Road will be one lane with alternating traffic controlled by flaggers Tuesday through Friday between 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. The speed limit has been reduced to 30 mph through the project area.
Hartford, U.S. 4 Quechee Gorge Bridge Project – Crews continue work on the north side of the bridge. One-way alternating traffic controlled by a traffic signal is in place. Pedestrians must also cross on the south side of the bridge.
Milton, U.S. 7 Intersection Reconfiguration – Construction of the new Keelty Crossing will continue. Traffic impacts will remain minimal. Crews and equipment may be present near the roadway, with signage and occasional flaggers in place to guide motorists. Trucks will be entering the green from Middle Road.
Northfield, VT 12 Retaining Wall Replacement – Flaggers will control alternating traffic patterns through the work zone Tuesday through Friday while crews finish installing permanent traffic control and begin excavation. 500 feet of the southbound lane of VT 12 near the intersection with Town Highway 54 will be closed for the remainder of the construction season. Temporary traffic lights and driveway signal devices will be active whenever flaggers are not present.
Pittsford, U.S. 7 Bridge Replacement – Motorists should expect delays on U.S. 7 to allow for alternating one-way travel along with intermittent closures of the intersections of Oxbow Road, Arch Street, and VT Route 3.
Poultney, Town Highway/South Street Bridge Rehabilitation – Demolition and excavation at the south abutment continue. Traffic remains shifted to the one-lane temporary bridge, which is open to truck traffic. Temporary signals direct vehicles through the site with flaggers as needed during construction operations and truck movements. Drivers should use caution through the work zone.
Readsboro, VT 100 Bridge Replacement – As part of the bridge replacement over the Deerfield River, crews will continue work on the abutment formwork, reinforcing steel, and pier foundation for the new bridge. The temporary bridge continues to carry travelers over the river.
Troy, VT 243 and VT 105 Paving – Pothole repair and paving are scheduled throughout the project limits Tuesday through Friday. Flaggers will control alternating traffic patterns through single-lane closures from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Williston, VT 2A and Industrial Ave Intersection Roadway Widening – Crews will conduct drainage, curb, shared-use path, and driveway apron work on the west side of VT 2A between Industrial Avenue and Hillside Drive, and drainage and bioretention pond work on the east side of VT 2A between Mountain View Road and River Cove Road. Tuesday through Friday, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., the VT 2A northbound lane between Mountain View Road and River Cove Road will be closed, with alternating one-way traffic controlled by flaggers. Tuesday through Friday, between 6:30 a.m. and 6 p.m., the southbound right-turn-only lane from VT 2A onto Industrial Avenue will be closed. Motorists should expect major traffic delays and plan for extra travel time or seek alternate routes.
Wolcott, School Street Bridge Replacement – The bridge on School Street remains closed to all traffic with a signed detour in place. Tuesday through Friday from 7 a.m. and 6 p.m., traffic at the intersection of VT 15 and School Street will be controlled by flaggers.
