Vermont Business Magazine The annual New England Society for Healthcare Communications (NESHCo) conference will be held at the end of the month (May 27-29) in Burlington, marking the first time it has been held in Vermont.
Healthcare communications, marketing and strategy professionals from across New England will attend.
The 2026 conference theme, “The Craft of Connection,” is inspired by Vermont’s culture of craftsmanship, creativity, and community, and will focus on how healthcare organizations can build stronger, more human-centered communication with patients, employees, and communities.
“Healthcare communication is ultimately about helping people feel informed, supported, and connected,” said Mark Crow, co-chair of the conference and president of Tenth Crow Creative, a Burlington-based, healthcare-focused strategy and marketing agency. “We’re excited to bring this conference to Vermont for the first time and create space for important conversations around trust, storytelling, digital experience, leadership, and community engagement in healthcare.”
The event is expected to attract attendees from throughout Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut, generating visitor activity for Burlington-area hotels, restaurants, and local businesses while showcasing Vermont’s hospitality and creative culture to regional healthcare leaders.
Programming will include keynote presentations, breakout sessions, networking experiences, and the annual Lamplighter and Evans F. Houghton Awards recognizing excellence in healthcare communications across New England. Opening night will feature a Vermont-style farmers’ market with local artisans displaying their wares. And, there is an offsite learning experience hosted by UVM Health featuring its evidence-based culinary medicine program.
